Anne-Aurore Bertrand

Director of External Relations

Anne-Aurore Bertrand joined the Wildlife Justice Commission as Director of External Relations in September 2020. She has dedicated her career to public interest causes in the field of human rights and international justice, contributing to efforts to establish international mechanisms for ending impunity for the most serious crimes.

She worked at the International Criminal Court for 15 years, providing legal advice, working on policy and operational matters, and specialising in judicial cooperation and external relations. Her passion for wildlife conservation, combined with her commitment to criminal justice, naturally led her to join the Wildlife Justice Commission, where she is responsible for policy and multilateral work.

Anne-Aurore has a master’s degree in International and European law from the University of Aix en Provence (France), an LLM in Human Rights and UK Public Law from the University of Essex (UK), and an MSc in Financial Investigations with a focus on wildlife trafficking from the University of UCLAN (UK). She was admitted to the bar in 2005.
