Isabel has over 20 years of professional experience in communication, both in the private and the non-for-profit sectors. Passionate about environmental issues, she joined the Wildlife Justice Commission in 2017 as Director of Communication, where she leads the development and implementation of strategic communication plans aimed at enhancing the WJC’s efforts to help disrupt and dismantle transnational criminal networks trading in wildlife, timber and fish.
Prior to becoming part of the WJC team, Isabel was an independent international consultant for over a decade, leading communication, fundraising and advocacy projects for international non-profits and corporates, delivering consultancy studies aimed at helping organisations expand their funding capacity, as well as freelancing for theme magazines and news agencies. Earlier on, Isabel was Communication Manager for Médecins Sans Frontières Spain, following a few years in the television business. She had previously worked in the media department of Greenpeace International at its HQ in Amsterdam.
A Spanish national, Isabel holds a Bachelor in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid and a diploma on leadership and management of non-profits by leading ESADE Business School.
