Tom Keatinge

Director of the Centre for Financial Crime (CFCS) & Security Studies at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI)

Tom Keatinge is the founding Director of RUSI’s Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies (CFCS) which he joined in December 2014 following a 20-year investment banking career at J.P. Morgan. His research focuses on both financial crime-related policy issues in the UK and at the international level (e.g. at the Financial Action Task Force) as well as the way in which finance and the private sector can be used to disrupt issues such as terrorist financing, human trafficking, proliferation finance/sanctions evasion, and the illegal wildlife trade via the effective use of financial intelligence. Mr Keatinge holds a Master’s in Intelligence and International Security from King’s College London, where he wrote his dissertation on the operation and effectiveness of the global counter-terror finance regime.
