Vietnamese Environmental Police seize 207 kg of ivory in Hanoi

The Vietnamese Environmental Police successfully arrested two suspects and seized 207 kg of ivory in Hanoi earlier this week. This seizure is the result of specific intelligence provided by our team about the operation of a major trafficking network.

The ivory has as street value of USD 90,000 and represents approximately 20 elephants. Investigations continue and further arrests are anticipated.

This seizure brings the amount of ivory in Hanoi seized by the Environmental Police acting on our information to 1571 kg (over 157 elephants) in the last 2 years.

We are very proud of the results that our cooperation with the Vietnamese Environmental Police is yielding and we want to congratulate them for this success.
